Description
A Bordeaux wine from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, classed among the Crus Classés in the Graves classification of 1953.
Frequently the qualitative equal of sister-château Haut Brion and in some years even better. La Mission’s production levels are now smaller than ever and, more than ever, it can be seen as an
‘honorary’ first growth. There are normally around 5,000 cases produced annually.
With a long history of winemaking, La Mission Haut-Brion has consistently performed as a wine and garnered the respect of many international wine critics. Jancis Robinson MW describes La Mission as “the quintessential insider’s wine”.
Featuring a classic blend of 47.9% Merlot, 45.8% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 6.3% Cabernet Franc, with an alcohol level of 13.4%.
Smoky, spicy, cassis, graphite, and violet-tinged blue fruits with vibrant acidity and refined tannins.
