Description
The Gabriel-Glas is celebrated by wine enthusiasts and critics for its ability to function as a “universal” glass for any wine. Designed by Swiss wine critic René Gabriel, its shape maximises complexity through three key elements:
The “Bouquet-Drive”: The bottom of the bowl features a distinct V-shape that flares outward, maximising the surface area and allowing even a small pour to aerate and release aromas quickly.
The Tapered Funnel: The sides taper gently to a precise 66-millimetre opening. This channels the wine’s bouquet directly to the nose without letting the aromas disperse or become overly concentrated.
Ultralight Construction: Available in machine-blown (StandArt) and mouth-blown (Gold) editions, the paper-thin, lead-free crystal ensures a seamless transition of the wine from the glass to the palate.
Because it funnels aromas and sequentially delivers flavours, it is considered an ideal tool for improving
your palate and enjoying sparkling, white, red, and sweet wines alike.
